
Biography
Charles “Chas” Webb IV is the son of Maritza and Charles Webb. Chas was born in the New York City suburb of New Canaan, CT. In 2005 Chas graduated from New Canaan School where he was an Eagle Scout, Class President, Home Coming King and a 4-year letterman in Cross Country.
After high school Chas attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) where he majored in civil engineering. During that time, he interned with the United States Corps of Engineers as a Hydraulic Intern during the 2010 Nashville Floods. In December of 2010, Chas graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from UTC. In 2019 Chas graduated with his Master of Science in Engineering Management from UTC.
Shortly after his graduation Chas began working for the Hamilton County Water and Wastewater Treatment Authority as a Project Engineer. During that time Chas was responsible for review and approval of sewer extensions with Hamilton County. Chas also designed low-pressure systems for neighborhoods with failing septic tanks. While in Chattanooga, Chas was President of the Chattanooga Track Club for 18 months. As President he balanced the club’s budget, hired a full-time employee and helped the club earn several national awards.
In January of 2018, Chas moved to Raleigh, NC, where he began working as a Senior Conservation Engineer for the City of Raleigh. From January of 2018 to March of 2021 Chas reviewed and approved stormwater development plans within the city limits. In March of 2021 Chas was promoted to Engineering Supervisor of Drainage Assistance. Chas currently manages the City of Raleigh Drainage Assistance program to help Raleigh residents with localized flooding. Chas is very active with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He was President of the ASCE NC Eastern Branch in 2021, NC President in 2022 and is currently the ASCE Region 4 Governor for North Carolina.
Chas has published four books, Webb's Wisdoms, Cleared To Crash , Ready To Rock, and Running Down Your Dream. Chas also enjoys landscape photography, playing piano, golf, running and spending time with his wife Honey Minkowitz. They have been together for 6 years and were married in January of 2022.

In 2023, Chas was named a Raleigh-Durham '40 Under Forty' award recipient as awarded by the Triangle Business Journal.
